It doesn't have to be the start of a new year to begin a new cleaning routine. If what you are currently doing is not working, it might be time to set up a cleaning schedule of sorts.
This efficient routine will help free up time for things you'd rather do!
The first thing you need to do is write down your main housekeeping chores. Then, assign each main chore to a day of the week.
For example...
Monday - Clean The Kitchen
Tuesday - Do The Laundry
Wednesday - Do The Vaccuuming
Thursday - Do The Dusting
Friday - Scrub All Bathrooms
Saturday - Organize Paperwork
Of course, you must choose what your main housekeeping chores are. If you have a cleaning service, then select other time-consuming tasks that seem to get spread out over the week but which could be done more efficiently on one day.
Try to stick to your new schedule as best as you can. There will always be shifting around here and there, but if you practice and make it a routine, soon the whole family will know what day certain things have to be done. And wouldn't it be great to hear your children say "Mom, I’d be Happy to Do That". Before long, you will notice a difference!
When you've accomplished this, try organizing something else!
